Cristin's review of Ending a Broken Journey set to go live on Aug 3, 2013

Mackenzie's journey starts out as a broken girl with little to no self esteem, just existing in the world and holding all of her pain inside. Her emotional walls are concrete and although she is surrounded by family and friends, she just can't seem to break free from the hold her past has on her...That is until one friend and one boy crush (who happen to be brothers) from her childhood, come back into her life. Drew and Jax Dean are back to stay and Drew who never forgot Mackenzie, makes it his mission to help get back the vibrant, happy "Kennie" he used to know. Drew is about to change Kennie's life.

There are so many things I love about this book starting with the characters. Mackenzie..even though she is damaged, you love her and cheer her on. Drew is 'THE guy'..gorgeous and swoonworthy. Ladies get your fans ready because he is going to make you melt! Jax is Drew's younger brother and I just love him. He is 'THAT guy'' that everyone wants to be around. The life of the party so to speak. He is Hot and Hilarious. Kip is the handsome, protective older brother to Mackenzie...And then we have the fiesty and fun best girlfriends Ade and Cass. The conversations between this group of  friends is off the charts entertaining. so enjoyable! It was also very refreshing to read a book that included strong family values. I appreciated that. It was as if the author weaved her personal love and importance of family and friends and writing into this story.

We also get alternating POV's. Who doesn't love that?! We really get into Drew and Kennie's mind. We also get glimpses into the past which adds to the buildup and depth of the story. Another treat? Poetry...yes, you heard right. The author incorporates original, amazing poetry into the story and you will be inspired!

Overall this book has everything one can want from a story....You will experience every emotion fom laughing to crying to swooning. The story is meaningful and moving and I highly recommend it. Great read and I can't wait to see what is next from Melissa L. Delgado.

4.25 amazing, romantic stars. Take the journey, it is well worth it.

Put this on your TBR asap, spread the word and tell all of your friends. Share this blog and review with your friends and comment below with a link to where you shared it and I will gift 3 people an ecopy of this book!  Ready Go!

Feature about Melissa L. Delgado, new author of Ending a Broken Journey

Hey everyone, Cristin here. GGW was kind enough to let me stop by and share some exciting news with you from the book world. My friend and author Melissa L. Delgado has written her first book titled Ending a Broken Journey and I'm over the moon excited for her. EEEK! We have another fabulous Indie author to fangirl over. Ok first things first though, let me tell you a little about this amazing woman......

Melissa and I met about a year ago online in a book group and I knew I liked her right off the bat. She is that rare, genuine, positive person that you want in your life forever. She posts motivating, uplifting quotes and sayings daily on her author page that just brighten your day. What I also started to notice aside from her positive attitude & love of books, is her love of writing. Being on Goodreads, I would casually read a review here and there until I  stumbled upon Melissa's reviews. This was my first look  into her talent and I instantly became hooked on those reviews. But then came the poetry. This girl can write poetry and she inpsires me. She has even performed at a poetry Slam. And  now she has written her first book and I am just blown away.

Hello Everyone!!

Hope everyone had a great week! I know I did.  For those who attended the NYC Author Event this past weekend, please let's give our girl Trish a standing ovation for the fantastic job she did! Thank you Trish, we all love you!

I absolutely loved the event! I talked and met some great authors.  Here are some pictures from the event of me and some very beautiful ladies.

First, here are a few of my WOG.  Aren't they all beautiful!

I love all my ladies!!
Now, let's see some beautiful authors!! I had the privilege of getting some photos with Raine Miller, Jasinda Wilder and Madeline Sheehan...just a few of my favorite authors!!  These ladies are so amazing, I just love them!

I really wish I could have got more pictures with the rest of the authors, but there's always next time!

Since I spent most of my weekend in NYC and preparing (buying lots of books) for the event, I didn't get much reading done this week...I know bad girl, but look at all the books I got signed!!

And don't even get me started on how much SWAG I received!!

This week, I am going to give away 5 copies of Nicole Edward's Kaleb!  The third book in the Alluring Indulgence Series, Travis, released today.   So those of you who haven't read the first two books, Kaleb and Zane, really need to get on it! I love the Alpha males in these books!! They more often then not, even include some menage's! Yummy!  For this week's give away, all you have to do is follow this page and leave a comment with your email address and your preference of Kindle or Nook.  Good luck to all that participate!

So the books I actually did read this week are below:

July 24th -
Anything Like Me - B&S Series #3 - Kimberly Knight

This was the conclusion of Spencer and Brandon's story.  For those who haven't read this series, the first two books are Where I Need to Be (#1) and Wanted (#2).  This was a really cute series.  I gave this last book a 3.75 rating.  I was so happy to get the ending we've been waiting for.  Happy reading!

July 25th and 26th -
Axel - Corps Security #1 - Harper Sloan

This is an alpha male who is also pretty damn sensitive.  Yes, it is an oxymoron but when you read it you will understand.  All the misunderstanding between the two main characters was killing me! But eventually, they got their shit together and were better off because of it.  I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for Greg's book next! I will be reading this entire series, I am sure! I gave this book a 4.25 rating.  I do recommend this one to those of you who love those hot alpha males!

July 29th -
Mikalo's Fate - The Mikalo Chronicles #3 - Syndra Shaw

This was the third book in the series and I wasn't as thrilled with this one as I was the first two.  Ronan lost too much of who she was in this book and Mikalo just seemed off throughout the whole thing.  It seemed to drag on with the wedding and being in Greece.  Also, Greek's call their grandmothers YAYA, not NONA!!  I did enjoy this series but the ending of it was too drawn out.  I gave this book 3.5 stars.  I do want to read what she will do will Deni's story next.  I really love Deni!

Well, bitches, I'm out! That's all for today!
Good luck everyone and happy reading!

Hey All!!

I'm back from my wonderful mini vacation and can't wait until Saturday for the New York Author Event...I'm so excited!!  I can't wait to see all my favorite authors again and meet some new ones!!

This week, along with the excitement of seeing Tara Sivec again, I would am going to give away 5 ebooks of Watch Over Me.  Tara is proudly donating $1.00 from every sale of both her ebook and paperback to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  I am here to support her cause and I hope everyone will also support it.

I will randomly pick the 5 winners from those who leave comments on today's blog post.  Good luck everyone!!

Ok, so now let's talk about the books that I've read in the last week...there hasn't been as many as normal as I was away on vacation, quite a few novellas this time around!

July 17th -
Innocence Defied - New York #3 - Lainey Reese

The third installment of this series was a lot different than the first two.  I was a little thrown off by the age of the girl in this book but once I got over that, the book did pull through for me.  I enjoyed Gage in book 2 so I was very happy to get his story in book 3!  I gave this book 4 stars.  Please enjoy reading this series!

July 18th -
No Going Back - Timing is Everything #2 - Erika Ashby

After the heart break we were left with at the end of Moving Forward, I really needed this book!  Unfortunately, I did not enjoy this book as much as I did the first one.  There was so much more heart break here.  Mallory and Seth deserved so much more in my opinion.  I gave this book 3.5 stars.  I'm sorry, I really wish I could've gave it more but I need more in this book.  If you've read the first book, you do have to read this book to know everything that happened at the end.  I will recommend this book.

July 19th - 22nd
The Arrangement Series - HM Ward

I'm only giving you the cover of the first book here, but on the links page, I will give you the links to all of the series.
After reading Damaged 1 & 2, I really needed to get the back story of Sean from this series.  Currently, there are 8 novellas.  Based on the novellas, I would give each one a 3.5 (which is the higher than I would ever rate a novella).  But if this was one book, I would definitely give at least a 4.5.  I love how each novella starts right where the last one left off.  I cannot wait for book 9 in this series!! The end of 8 really has me standing on my toes waiting!! Great job in this series.  I also can't wait for Stripped to come out which is also a Ferro brothers book! I definitely recommend these books.

July 23rd -
Thief - Love Me With Lies #3 - Tarryn Fisher

I waited so long for this book to come out and was a little disappointed.  I felt there was still something missing here.  I was so happy to get Caleb's POV and his history.  I was so glad to see that there were a lot of things that weren't as they seemed from when we read The Opportunist and Dirty Red!!  I can't stand that bitch Leah!! She needs to rot in hell!! Well, at least at the end of the book, Leah did do ONE good thing...not telling, there are NO spoilers posted here!  I gave this book a 4.25 rating.  Again, I feel something was still missing.  I will definitely recommend reading this as long as you read the first two books in the series.

Well, that's all I've read in this last week...hopefully, next week I will have more but seeing as I will be in NY, I may not!

For those of you who did not see, there is also an author event in Phoenix in September you all should attend!! Unfortunately, I cannot but I hope you all sign up!! There are plenty of seats left for this event.  Below is the sign up link for this event.

As I stated earlier, I will be giving away 5 ebooks of Watch Over Me by Tara Sivec this week.  I will randomly pick 5 winners from those of you who leave a comment on this post.  Good luck everyone!  Please leave your email address and preference of either kindle or nook.

Well, bitches, I'm out until next week!! Happy Reading!!

Hello Everyone!!

So, I've decided that I am going to only blog once a week for the summer until I can really get a hold of my bearings.  I've also added Cristin as an author for the blog so that she may come in and update everyone also.

Last week was a very busy week for me.  I was very excited to have a very small meet with Author Heidi McLaughlin!! Let me tell you people, she is such a wonderful person!! It was her, I and only one other person.  We got to be our own little book club the three of us.  She also gave us some highlights to her 2nd book in The Beaumont Series, My Unexpected Forever.  Unfortunately, we now have to wait until September to get to read it! What a tease she is!  This week, I'm going to give away 5 e-copies of Forever My Girl, the first book in The Beaumont Series to the first 5 people to leave a comment on my blog.  Heidi has also given me some bookmarks to give away, so those people will also receive a bookmark!  For those of you who haven't read Forever My Girl, what are you waiting on?? OMG, that Liam Page is so HOT!!!  This is really a true love story!

Forever My Girl (Beaumont, #1)

So, let's discuss the books I've read in the last week.  There are a total of 10 of them....

July 9th -
 Star Crossed
Star Crossed - Alisha Watts
This was a cute read.  It's only a novella so I gave it 2.5 stars.

July 11th -
Edible (Exquisite, #3)
Exquisite - Edible #3 - Ella Frank
I loved this book!! I was so happy to get into why Rachel was the way she was! I loved the chemistry between Rachel and Cole.  He is definitely what we ladies like to call Swoon-Worthy!! This series is a must read! I gave this book 4.25 stars.

July 12th - July 13th
Bound and Freed Boxed Set - Andre' Chevalier BDSM Stories 1-5 - Nikki Sex
Bound and Freed Boxed Set (André Chevalier BDSM Stories #1-5)
This was a cute series of novellas starring John Taylor and Kelli Flynn.  I did enjoy this story although I feel they moved way too fast.  They were in love before the first night was over...I rated this entire series a 3.  If you just need a quick read, I would recommend this...

July 14th -
Seize Me (Breakneck, #1)
Seize Me - Breakneck #1 - Crystal Spears
This book is not for the light at heart!!! OMG!! It is real...gangs, rape, murder....everything.  I really enjoyed this book and I definitely recommend it! I gave this book 4.25 stars.  Hurry up Crystal and give me the next book in this series!!

July 15th -
Twinsequences (Twisted Twin, #1)
Twinsequences - Twisted Twin #1 - Jenn Foor
I love Jenn Foor so I just had to read this.  I thoroughly enjoyed this book!! I don't think Ivy paid enough for what she put Stoshua and Willow through!! I'm so happy they caught on to everything she did, too bad it was years later.  Ivy is one sick chick and I don't see her getting any better.  Maybe Jenn can redeem that character later on.  I'm so glad that Will and Stosh got their HEA, I really hope it lasts! I gave this book 4.25 stars...why....because it is not My Mitchell boys!! I know, you may think that is wrong but I don't think I could rate this book up there with them.

July 16th -
Frigid (Frigid, #1)
Frigid - Frigid #1 - J. Lynn
This book was about a young lady who has been in love with her best friend forever.  He is such a player that he didn't realize how much she loved him.  He in turn was in love with her for just as long but slept with multiple women to try to keep his thoughts away from her.  I enjoyed them getting to where they belonged.  This was a really good read.  It's a quick read.  I rated this book 3.75.

I'm currently reading Innocence Defied (New York #3) by Lanie Reese.  I am 65% in this book and I have to tell you, Lanie is not disappointing me! I absolutely adore this series!  I hope you all read it!

I don't know who is going to the NYC author event but I really hope to see you there!! There are a few seats left, so see if you can make it:

There are also events in Phoenix and Toronto coming up that have plenty of space available.  Get on and get there!! Hopefully I will see you all at them!

Below is the Phoenix event!

Well, bitches, I'm out....getting ready to go on vacation!!
Be back soon!!

Remember, leave your comments to get your e-copy and bookmarks of Forever My Girl from Heidi McLaughlin..don't forget to let me know if you have a Kindle or Nook and leave me your email address to send it to!

Hello There!!
I've been neglecting my blog for a while now...bad me!! I start than I just let it lag...UGH!!

I'd like to update you on the books I've read recently and how I've rated them.  There will be a lot below so please be patient with me as I try to get thru them all.  I will go in order of the books I've read since my last blog post....

June 16th -
Recovery - Mending Hearts #1.5 - LB Simmons
I loved loved loved this book!! What a great story following Running On Empty!  I rated this book at 4.75, definitely a recommended read if you read the first book...can't wait for Running in Place!

June 17th -
Miss Me Not - Tiffany King
This is definitely a fabulous read! Especially for those who've suffered depression...this was well thought out by the author and very well depicted!  I rated this book a 5, highly recommend this book

Watch Over Me - Tara Sivec
Come on, it's Tara Sivec, what is there NOT to love about her books!! I gave this one a 4.5 and do recommend reading it!

June 20th -
Redneck Romeo - Rough Riders #15 - Lorelei James
Oh Dalton, how do I love thee, let me count the ways...yeah, 5 stars for all the McKay boys, no doubt about it!!

June 21st -
Limits - Lengths #3 - Steph Campbell and Liz Reinhardt
I was so glad to get Genevieve's story and that she finally realized she wasn't in love with Deo.  This was a good one.  There were some grammar and typos but you can easily forgive them.  I gave this one 3.5 stars...if you haven't read the whole series, please start from the beginning with Lengths.

June 22nd -
Following Me - KA Linde
This was a good quick read.  I love KA Linde's Avoiding Series so this was a no brainer for me to pick up and read!  I gave this one 4 stars and recommend reading it.

Until Fountain Bridge - On Dublin Street #1.6 - Samantha Young
I did enjoy this little novella but to me it wasn't enough story for Ellie and Adam...they deserved so much more!  I gave this one 3 stars because I wanted more!

One Perfect Night - Bella Andre
Cute little novella.  Really wish there was more, could've been a good book...I gave this one 3.25 stars...it was just a novella afterall.

June 23rd -
Just Remember to Breathe - Thompson Sisters #2 - Charles Sheehan-Miles
I adore the Thompson sister series, I would highly recommend these books.  I gave this one 4.5 stars!  Please start with A Song for Julia if you are interested in these books.  They are written kind of like stand alones but you get spoilers if you don't read them in order.   I definitely have to get reading the third book, The Last Hour.

Beg, Tease - Songs of Submission #'s 1&2 - CD Reiss
These were good.  There are currently 6 of the books out in this series, I think they could have all been put into one book.  I would've enjoyed them more like that.  I gave each book a 3 because as I said earlier....they are Novellas.

June 24th -
Submit, Jessica and Sharon, Control - Songs of Submission #'s 3, 3.5 and 4 - CD Reiss
Again, as per my comment above on the first 2 books, these all could've been done in one book.  All of them also received a 3.

June 25th -
Burn - Songs of Submission #5 - CD Reiss
I enjoyed this entire series.  This one received 3 stars and I can't wait for the next book Resist to come out in August...

June 26th -
The Game Changer - The Perfect Game #2 - Jenn Sterling
Jenn did us very good in this book!! I was so happy that she gave us all the missing time from when Cassie and Jack split until they got back together!! It was amazing to read everything that Jack felt and all that he went through!! 5 amazing stars ont his book!! Read this series if you haven't yet, trust me, you won't be disappointed!!!

June 27th -
Glass Hearts - Hearts #2 - Lisa DeJong
Great sequel to Plastic Hearts.  Wish there had been more to the story though, this one was more of a novella than a full book.  I gave this one 4 stars.

June 29th -
Damaged #2 - HM Ward
I adore Peter!! This one was a sequel I was most definitely not disappointed in!! I will definitely be reading The Arrangement Seriesto catch up on what I've been missing all this time in Sean and Avery's story!!!  5 stars on this one!

June 30th -
Rock My World - Black Falcon #2.5 - Michelle Valentine
How could you not love more Riff????  This was a great novella!! Usually I don't give novellas more than a 3 rating for being short stories but this one definitely gets a 4!

July 2nd -
Falling Into Us - Falling #2 - Jasinda Wilder
Becca and Jason's story was just AMAZEBALLS!!!!  So happy not to have the typical story of being together, not being together, etc....it was so refreshing to read a love story without constant angst and trust issues.  Definitely 5++++ stars on this one! Please read this!!!

July 4th -
Out of Breath - Breathing #3 - Rebecca Donovan
I was a bit disappointed after waiting for a year for the final installment of this series.  I don't think that Evan was treated properly in this book.  Emma was treated as if she were made of glass.  The epilogue was very disappointing.  Too much story was left out, characters just up and disappeared...I gave this book 3.5 stars...sorry...

July 6th -
This Man Confessed - This Man #3 - Jodi Ellen Malpas
Jesse Ward, you bastard, I love you!!!! This book was definitely the best of the three of them!! Jesse melted my heart so many times!!! The epilogue is EPIC!!! Love love love this book!!! 5++++ stars on this one!! Great job on giving us a wonderful conclusion to Ava and Jesse's story!!

July 7th -
Facade - Games #2 - Nyrae Dawn
OMG!! What a beautiful story!!  Both Adrian and Delaney broke my heart!!! WOW!!!  I definitely recommend this book!!! 5 stars from me here!!

July 8th -
Search Me - Katie Ashley
This was a cute story!! Not what I expected from this author!! It was quite the adventure.  I gave this book 3.75 stars.

Well, there you have them all that I've missed posting!! Sorry it took so long to get back here.  Hope you all enjoy!!

Today's reads are Star Crossed by Alisha Watts, a cute little novella and Beautiful Bitch by Christina Lauren...I will let you know tomorrow how they turned out!

Tune in again soon for more updates!!
